Dental Implants are well-researched, long-standing solutions to replace missing teeth. With proper care, implants have a high success rate for the average patient, and can be expected to function well for many years. However, many patients are still reluctant to consider dental implants as a treatment option, perceiving it to be newer, “strange”, and expensive. Also, there is a lack of knowledge around the risks and negative consequences involved in having a tooth extracted that could be saved, or not replacing a tooth that has been extracted.

That’s where Beaumont Family Dentistry comes in. “We offer a variety of services, including general dentistry, hygiene, surgery (including implants), endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, and prosthodontics. As such, patients can have a majority of their dental care completed in our state-of-the-art dental office. We also partner with specialists to treat patients in the best possible way and utilize cutting-edge technology to make all the procedures easier for both providers and the patients,” says Dr. Ryan J. While placing dental implants, Beaumont Family Dentistry follows a guided process. First, it captures a digital CBCT that shows patients’ teeth and bones of the maxilla, mandible in three dimensions, and a digital impression of the upper and lower teeth. These files are merged to accurately plan the placement of the future implant, in relation to the teeth and the future crown that will be used to restore the implant.

Once the implant is virtually placed in the CBCT software, a surgical guide is 3D printed. In this way, a majority of the surgery is performed virtually on a computer. The primary anatomical structures are identified, and the implant is virtually placed in the bone area that results in the highest level of success for the future restorative appliance.

“We then 3D print an appliance with a small opening that allows us to place the implant in the exact spot virtually planned,” says Golibersuch. This allows Beaumont Family Dentistry to accurately place an implant, while avoiding any major anatomical landmarks, including sinuses, nerves, and adjacent teeth, among others.

Further, most single implants are restored with a single crown. Many times, the doctors at Beaumont Family Dentistry fabricate this crown in-house, utilizing CAD/ CAM technology. “We utilize software in our CEREC system to fabricate a crown in the right location, and with the appropriate bite relation,” mentions Golibersuch.

He goes on to mention that Beaumont Family Dentistry works in liaison with a number of insurance companies to give more patients the opportunity to visit them, and provide several different payment options to help patients better afford their treatment. They also utilize several different types of content to help educate and explain to patients numerous treatment options and the importance of having a sound dental health. These include physical models of implants and teeth, short videos explaining the procedures, and brochures that review the treatment in detail.

Having been at the forefront of providing premium dental care, for the future, Beaumont Family Dentistry will continue to utilize the latest techniques and technologies to better treat patients at or above the standard of care. As of now, they employ nine dentists in practices, including two who will start in November 2020, to reduce wait times and address the treatment needs of patients. “We will continue to expand internally to maximize our current space and our current hours, but may expand our footprint in the future to other areas around Central Kentucky,” concludes Golibersuch.
